Photos from the Lab

This photo was taken by Zelzer Group member Sunil Rajput. The stairwell is commonly used to pose for group photos but looks equally stunning with no one actually on it. Here is Sunny's description of the photo.

The Boots science building is home to the Laboratory of Biophysics and Surface Analysis and other research groups such as Targeted Therapeutics, Drug delivery and Tissue engineering. Boasting its excellent research equipment and facilities the building is also home to the Interface and Surface Analysis Centre (ISAC), a joint venture between the University of Nottingham and the National Physics Laboratory. The image shows the stairwell between the second and third floors and its beautiful design.

New Review Published

A review by Matt Piggott and Mischa Zelzer is now published in Chemistry Today.

The review describes recent advances in surface and interface analysis and highlights how these developments may impact on research and development in the pharmaceutical industry.

The paper also promotes the concept that collaborations between universities and industry, facilitated by service facilities such as ISAC, can provide the capabilities required to integrate state of the art analysis facilities in industrial R&D.
